Flood Warning For Randolph County Until 1131 PM 1-24-18

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis, IN has issued a flood warning for Randolph County in Indiana.

The NWS in Indianapolis, IN says “1219 PM EST Thu Jan 24 2019 …A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways in Indiana… Driftwood River…East Fork White River…Eel River…Flatrock River…Mississinewa River…Sugar Creek…Wabash River…White River…Wildcat Creek…Youngs Creek… .A winter storm brought a combination of rain and snow across much of central Indiana on Saturday. This, combined with an inch to inch and a half of rain that fell across central Indiana on Wednesday, is leading to rivers and streams rapidly rising. Widespread flooding is underway and additional locations along the main stem rivers will occur later this week. The East Fork White River is approaching crest at Seymour and downstream portions of the river look to remain in flood through January 30th. The White River has crested at Anderson and will be approaching crest at Noblesville later tonight. The greatest flooding will be noted in the lower reaches of the river. Petersburg may crest 6 feet above flood stage early next week. The Wabash River will approach crest at Lafayette and Covington late tonight and will approach crest at Montezuma and Clinton Friday morning. Hutsonville may crest 5 feet above flood stage next week. Flooding will affect numerous local and state roads, agricultural land, and some river parks and/or cabins. Precautionary/Preparedness Actions… Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river conditions.
