We are seeing sunshine across southwest Ohio and eastern Indiana. Only a few clouds are passing by at this hour. That is not good, sunshine is not our friend on severe weather days. Also looking at the latest temperature and dew point, temps right now are in the 70 to 80s. Highs are expected to get up into the upper 80s today. Dew points right now are in the 50s to 60s. CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy) is approaching 1000 J/kg. So the atmosphere is conducive to produce thunderstorms this afternoon afternoon heading into the evening. The only thing that will limit our thunderstorms later tonight is loosing the heating of the day which we are getting a lot of right now. An update from the SPC is expected at 4 pm.
