Officials in Alabama gives an update on tornado recovery situation in the south

Alabama officials say that the number of deceased people has not gone up from 23. Seven people are said to be from two families but those two families are connected by marriage. The youngest victim of this tornado is said to be 6 years old. Lee County Sherriff Jay Jones says that search and recovery operataions are still ongoing.

The NWS says that the Lee County tornado is still expected to be an EF-4 tornado with winds around 170 mph. The NWS says after further investigation, the track of this tornado is expected to be around 70 miles now. Numerous other tornadoes that touched down over the weekend in that area has been upgraded to EF-2’s.
