The Storm Prediction Center has us in a marginal risk (1/5) to see severe weather as we head into Thursday. This means a few storms could be strong at times.
Gulf moisture will move into the area, along with warm temperatures Thursday. We will have also have some energy (CAPE) over the area to provide us with the chance to get storms going. A trough will be moving through the area as a low-pressure system brings that warmer air to the area on Thursday. A cold front will follow bringing the strongest storms to our south and potentially bringing us a few storms.
We will see showers and storms move into the area Thursday morning and continue into the afternoon. A few of these storms could be strong to severe at times. We could get a partial break from the rain and storms in the afternoon. Then more showers and storms will move into the area late Thursday afternoon into the evening. Some of these could be strong to severe at times as well. Right now, strong winds and heavy rain look to be the main threats. However, this could change for the better or worse.

Make sure you know where to go during severe weather and have a safety plan.
