The SPC has southwestern parts of the area in a slight risk (2/5) for severe weather. The rest of the area is in a marginal risk (1/5) for severe weather on Monday. This means a few strong to severe storms are possible on Monday.
So as we head into Sunday moisture from the south will begin to move into the area. Actually, a few showers Sunday afternoon into the evening can not be ruled out. However, Gulf moisture will continue to move into the area as we head into Monday. So we will have plenty of moisture to work with. There will also be some instability to work with as well going into Monday.
Ok, so again, a few showers are possible as we head into Sunday afternoon and evening. Rain will continue into Monday morning and then the afternoon before tapering off. Some rain could steady at times as well.
We will get a break from the rain as we head into Monday evening and then some showers and storms from the west riding along a cold front will move into the area. A few of those could strong to severe at times. Those showers and storms will continue into the overnight before tapering off. Check back later for updates.
Here is the latest from the blog.
Make sure you know where to go during severe weather and have a safety plan.
