A confirmed tornado leaves one dead and damage after moving through Atlanta >>>Updated<<<

Initials reports were no one was injured but now at least 1 has unfortunately lost their life after a tornado moved through southwest Atlanta earlier today. WSB-TV says the Atlanta Police Department reports the tornado dropped down on MLK Jr. Dr. and Fairburn Rd. in Adamsville.

The NWS in Peachtree City, GA confirmed the tornado earlier today. The NWS says the tornado was on the ground for 1.5 miles and was 250 yards wide. With winds up to 90 mph making it an EF-1 tornado.

The tornado was reported to have moved through south Fulton County and southwest Atlanta before moving into DeKalb County where it weakened.

The Portland Trail Blazers were evacuated during practice this morning in Atlanta. The Trail Blazers are expected to play again the Atlanta Hawks this evening.
