Could bad weather be to blame for a plane crash in the Java Sea?

A Sriwijaya Flight, a Boeing 737 taking off from Jakatara, Indonesia, the capital of Indonesia reportedly crashed in the Java Sea moments after take off. Last contact with the plane was at 2:40 PM local time according to the Indonesian Transportation Ministry.

The plane took off after a weather delay. Heavy rains have been pounding the Indonesian area as it is monsoon season there. Search crews say that played a part in delaying the search for the plane. Search crews said they may have found parts of the plane in an area known as the Thousand Islands. Crews say they will continue to search for the plane and the 60 people who were on the plane. The investigation into why the plane crashed continues.
