Severe tropical cyclone Yasa is bearing down on Fiji

Above is a look at radar from Fiji. The eye of Yasa is now coming into view as the storm batters Fiji. The storm is now a cat 5.

Here is a look at the storm from the Himawari satellite.

The storm is expected to stay a cat 5 as it moves over Fiji and even once it moves past Fiji it is forecast to be a cat 5. For those in Fiji this means even well-built structures could sustain heavy damage. Flash flooding, strong winds, and storm surge will all be of concern over the next few hours as this storm moves past Fiji.
