The government of Fiji has issued a curfew. Urging people to stay indoors and those near the coast to move to higher ground.

The storm named Yasa, which is a dangerous category 5 storm with wind gusts over 200 mph is expected to make landfall sometime soon in Fiji. Dangerous winds as noted earlier are expected along with dangerous storm surge, heavy rain, and flash flooding. Well built structures may sustain heavy damage.
