Wind Chill Warning – Valid Until 1 PM Thursday

The National Weather Service has allowed this alert to expire.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning. This wind chill warning has been issued for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby counties in Ohio. Also for Wayne County in Indiana.

The NWS in Wilmington, OH says “512 PM EST Mon Jan 28 2019 …WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST TUESDAY… …WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY TO 1 PM EST THURSDAY… * WHAT…Snow and very cold wind chills expected. Rain changing to snow tonight. Rapidly falling temperatures will create flash freeze conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to one half inch expected. Dangerously cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero expected. Winds gusting as high as 25 mph. * WHERE…Portions of East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio. * WHEN…For the Wind Chill Warning, from 4 AM Wednesday to 1 PM EST Thursday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Tuesday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Wind chills as low as 30 to 40 below zero are expected. * WHERE…Portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southwest and west central Indiana. * WHEN…From 10 PM Tuesday to 1 PM EST Thursday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. * WIND CHILL VALUES…Wind chills of 20 to 40 below zero possible at times from Tuesday night through Thursday morning. * OTHER IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia can occur quickly if precautions are not taken.
