High wind warning

The National Weather Service has allowed this alert to expire.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington, OH has issued a high wind warning. This high wind warning has been issued for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami, and Shelby counties in Ohio.

The NWS in Wilmington, OH says “…HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 PM EST
SUNDAY…

  • WINDS…West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • TIMING…Late tonight through Sunday evening.
  • IMPACTS…High winds may bring down trees and power lines.
    Lightweight objects such as trash cans and deck furniture
    should be secured. Be aware of crosswinds while driving,
    especially on bridges and overpasses, or if you are in a high
    profile vehicle.”

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis, IN has issued a high wind warning for Randolph County in Indiana.

The NWS in Indianapolis, IN says “…HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 7 PM EST

  • TIMING…Early Sunday morning through Sunday evening.
  • WINDS…Brief periods with sustained westerly winds at 30 to
    40 mph with gusts at 50 to 60 mph will be possible…
    especially Sunday morning and early afternoon.
  • IMPACTS…Downed tree limbs could cause blocked roads…power
    lines and limited structure damage. Power outages will be
    possible. Driving in high profile vehicles…especially on
    north-south roads could become hazardous. Unsecured outdoor
    objects will be blown around.”

The NWS in Northern Indiana says “…HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ SUNDAY TO
1 AM EST /MIDNIGHT CST/ MONDAY…
HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

  • Sustained west winds of 35 to 40 mph, with frequent gusts of
    50 mph are expected to start early Sunday morning and persist
    into the evening hours of Sunday.
  • Periods of sustained winds to 45 mph and wind gusts to 60 mph
    are also expected, especially during the day Sunday.
    IMPACTS…
  • Downed tree limbs and small trees could block roads and lead
    to power outages as well as cause minor structural damage.
  • Driving in high profile vehicles, especially on north-south
    roads could become hazardous.
  • Unsecured outdoor objects will be blown around.”
