A 6,000-year dormant volcano erupted Friday in Iceland

According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office, the volcano which is on Reykjanes Peninsula started erupting around 8:45 PM. The eruption was said to be small but lava could be seen spewing out of the volcano. Iceland’s Prime Minister said no evacuation is expected but asked people to stay from around the immediate area.
