6.6 magnitude earthquake strikes northern Japan

No serious damage was reported and no tsunami threat followed the earthquake. The quake occurred at 10:27 AM JST yesterday, May 1 according to the JMA. Some expressways and train lines were shut down for a while due to the earthquake. Some people were injured but fortunately, no one was reported to have been killed.
