A mixed bag of wintry precipitation is expected Saturday. Heavy snow, rain, freezing rain, and sleet is expected to start tomorrow. With this winter storm coming, hazardous travel conditions are possible, tree damage, and power outages are possible.

Precip Plot Map For Saturday, January 19, 2019 (1)

A few snow flurries are possible tonight before the main event arrives. Then rain and snow will arrive over night. Areas that see a rain and snow mix could see freezing rain and sleet. We will deal with this winter storm all day on Saturday. Gusty winds, gusting from 30 to possibly 50 mph at times is expected. The storms itself will move out of the area by overnight Saturday. Snow will linger into Sunday.

Snow Accumulations By 4 PM Sunday, January 20, 2019

By 4 PM Sunday, the area could see at least 1 to 2 inches of snow. The best chance of snow accumulation looks to be around the I-70 corridor. This area could possibly see 10 to 12 inches of snow.

Please note that snow accumulations could change depending on where rain/freezing rain/sleet sets up.

So snow accumulations will vary, the map above is not a definite snow accumulation forecast.

Ice Accumulations By 4 PM Sunday, January 20, 2019

We could see about 0.10” to 0.50” of ice accumulation by 4 PM Sunday. Some may see ice accumulations up to an inch. This is something we will really have to worry about as we head into Saturday.
